Helen Lyons - Will
This will was handwritten: probate was not granted to it until 12/1974 and we feel that by then an Out of Court settlement had been arranged, bypassing Arthur Kirkman Smith - already dead - & descendants and directing the residue of the money[ after lawyers' fees] to the 6 Lyons siblings and to Blackmore relatives .
This is the last Will and testament of me Helen Blackmore of 104 The Ridgeway, Enfield in the county of Middlesex made this twentieth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seventy.
I hereby revoke all Wills made by me at any time heretofore. I appoint National Westminster Bank Limited [ hereon after called the Bank] to be the executor and trustee of this my Will on its standard terms and conditions in force at the dtae hereof including those governing the Bank's remuneration which shall be in accordance with its scale of fees in force at my death.
The bank shall have power if its standard scale of fees shall be altered after my death to charge remuneration for its services in accordance with such scale of fees as shall from time to time be in force.
I direct that all my debts and Funeral Expenses shall be paid as soon as conveniently after my decease.
I give and bequeath unto Mrs Kathleen Mansell of 20 Tower Road Poole, Dorset, the sum of five hundred pounds, unto Mr Patrick Mansell of 20 Tower Road, Poole, Dorset the sum of five hundred pounds, unto Irene, Florist, of Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex, the sum of two hundred pounds, unto Harold Ferrier of 8 Kynance Gardens, Middlesex, the sum of two hundred pounds, unto Mrs Hilda Ferrier of 8 Kynance Gardens, Stanmore, Middlesex, the sum of two hundred pounds, unto F.E. Bateman ot the National Westminster Bank Limited, 15 Bishopsgate, London, E.C.2 the sum of five hundred pounds, unto the Sisters of Charity, St. Josephs, Holtewhites Hill, Enfield, Middlesex, the sum of two hundred pounds, and all the remainder of my property to my friend and adviser Arthur Kirkman Smith of 6 Park Hill, 97 London Road, Forest Hill London SE.23.
Signed by the said Testator in the presence of us, present at the same time, who at her request, in her presence, and in the presence of each other, have subscribed our names as witnesses.

1.The National Provincial Bank, that of her late husband's, was a British retail bank which operated in England and Wales from 1833 until its merger into the National Westminster Bank in 1970
2. Arthur Kirkman Smith was probably born 1900, son of Kirkman Smith, a Stockbroker Manager. He married in 1927 and his wife died in 1969. He died 1973
